The media's swooning over Barack
Obama's victory and the strafing of Sarah
Palin continues. This time we hear from Andrea Mitchell today that the
RNC actually spent more than $150,000 reported on
Palin's campaign wardrobe, to the tune of about $183,000. Oh, really? This is
the story? How about the obscene amounts of money spent on the entire election? Isn't that a better story? Isn't the fact that money played a huge role in
Obama's victory a more tantalizing thread to pick up than an extra $33,000 spent on clothing (
nevermind the pure sexism in even running this story -- where's the outrage from women?)? Obama spent upwards of $847 million on the election, compared to about $500 million by McCain. Granted, Mac's amount is nothing to sneeze at, but a near $350 million difference between the two is staggering. Not to mention that the public side of the campaign finance system is dead.
From now on, may the biggest wallet win.
